Job Overview: The position of IC for supporting Communications involves providing essential support in the procurement process for UNDP in India. The individual contractor will be engaged through an individual contract for a period of 6 months. The role requires the contractor to assist in various communication tasks related to procurement, ensuring that all processes are transparent, efficient, and aligned with UNDP's standards. The contractor will be expected to engage with stakeholders, manage communications effectively, and contribute to the overall success of procurement initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the IC for supporting Communications include but are not limited to:
Assisting in the development and implementation of communication strategies related to procurement processes.
Coordinating with various teams to gather information and prepare communication materials.
Ensuring that all procurement communications are clear, concise, and accessible to stakeholders.
Managing inquiries and providing clarifications regarding procurement processes through the messaging functionality in the supplier portal.
Monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of communication strategies and making recommendations for improvements.
Supporting the organization of meetings and workshops related to procurement, including preparing agendas and minutes.
Collaborating with the procurement team to ensure alignment of communication efforts with procurement objectives.
Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of UNDP procurement policies and procedures to provide accurate information to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include:
Proven experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.
Strong understanding of procurement processes, preferably within the UN system or similar organizations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Proficiency in using digital communication tools and platforms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Educational Background: Candidates should possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, international relations, or a related field. A master's degree would be an advantage, particularly in areas related to development or procurement.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in communications or procurement support. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in a UN context, is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of successfully managing communication projects and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly Hindi or other regional languages, would be considered an asset and beneficial for effective communication with local stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This position is offered as a full-time contract for a duration of 6 months.
