Job Overview: The Young Associate will be positioned in the Director’s Office of the Global Relations and Co-operation Directorate (GRC) at the OECD. This role involves supporting the Directorate in various global relations tasks, which include preparing and coordinating strategic and policy content for documents and meetings. The selected candidate will engage in analysis and research on partner countries, contribute to drafting speeches and briefing notes, and prepare meeting summaries. The Young Associate will also undertake time-sensitive activities to support the Director’s Office and collaborate with colleagues to disseminate the Directorate's work effectively. This position is crucial for enhancing the OECD's relations with partner countries and ensuring their effective engagement in the organization’s initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Young Associate will be responsible for conducting analysis and background research on partner countries as required. They will contribute to drafting and/or reviewing speeches, talking points, and briefing notes. Additionally, the associate will prepare meeting summaries and undertake time-sensitive activities to support the work of the Director’s Office. They will work collaboratively with colleagues to support initiatives aimed at disseminating the Directorate's work, which includes preparing relevant materials. Furthermore, the Young Associate will follow the work of relevant OECD committees concerning partner country participation and maintain connections with Member Country Delegations and staff in other Directorates.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess an undergraduate degree in economics, economic development, law, public policy, or international relations, with a graduation date between 1 January 2024 and 1 September 202
Applications from candidates who already hold or are enrolled in a Master’s, PhD, or equivalent degree will not be considered. Coursework in economics, law, and/or international relations is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to conduct research, draft methodological and analytical papers, as well as briefing notes, brochures, and meeting summaries. They should also be capable of managing multiple projects with varying timelines.
Educational Background: Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in one of the specified disciplines: economics, economic development, law, public policy, or international relations. The graduation date must fall between 1 January 2024 and 1 September 202
Preference will be given to those with coursework in economics, law, and/or international relations. Applications from individuals with advanced degrees will not be accepted, ensuring that the position is tailored for recent graduates or those nearing graduation.
Experience: The position is designed for candidates who are recent graduates or those who will graduate soon, thus requiring no prior professional experience. However, any relevant internships or volunteer experiences that demonstrate research, analytical, and drafting skills will be advantageous. The focus is on candidates who can effectively manage their time and contribute to various projects within the Directorate.
Languages: Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages, English and French, is mandatory. Candidates should also possess a knowledge of, or a willingness to learn, the other language. This bilingual requirement is essential for effective communication within the organization and with partner countries.

The monthly base salary for this role is 3,780.34 EUR, which is exempt from French income tax, along with additional allowances based on eligibility.
