Job Overview:
The OECD's Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities (CFE) is seeking dynamic and motivated Junior Economists/Policy Analysts to contribute to its work, particularly in the areas of the green transition of SMEs and inclusive entrepreneurship. The role involves conducting statistical, economic, and policy analysis on issues affecting SME and entrepreneurship development, both in country-specific contexts and global thematic projects. The successful candidates will be expected to produce high-quality papers and reports, organize complex material for various audiences, and stay informed on the latest research and policy developments in the field. This position offers an opportunity to engage with international stakeholders and contribute to significant policy discussions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Junior Economist/Policy Analyst will be responsible for conducting thorough research and analysis on SME and entrepreneurship policies, focusing on the green transition and inclusive entrepreneurship. Key duties include: conducting statistical and economic analysis to identify trends affecting SMEs; gathering and verifying international data on entrepreneurial activities; assessing international practices in SME policy design; producing high-quality reports and papers; organizing and summarizing complex information for diverse audiences; contributing to corporate requests for briefings and presentations; supporting project management through organizing workshops and supervising interns; representing the OECD at international conferences; establishing relationships with high-level representatives in relevant ministries and organizations; and contributing to fundraising efforts by preparing project proposals and identifying new opportunities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as economics, public policy, or environmental policy. They must have at least two years of professional experience in SME policy, entrepreneurship policy, or environmental policy, preferably within international organizations or national governments. A strong understanding of economic principles and theories is essential, along with excellent policy research and analytical skills. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in drafting reports and translating data insights into clear narratives, as well as the ability to prepare effective presentations for various audiences. Strong organizational skills are also required to manage project progress and identify relevant participants for workshops.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in economics, public policy, environmental policy, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background should provide a solid foundation in economic analysis, policy evaluation, and research methodologies relevant to the work of the OECD.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in areas related to SME and entrepreneurship policy, preferably gained in an international context. Experience in conducting policy analysis, engaging with stakeholders, and contributing to policy reports is highly valued. Candidates should also demonstrate a track record of effective project management and collaboration across different teams and organizations.

Languages:
Fluency in one of the two official OECD languages (English and French) is mandatory, along with knowledge of the other language and a commitment to achieving a good working level. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and contribute to international discussions.

Additional Notes:
This position is a one-year fixed-term appointment with the possibility of renewal. The monthly salary starts at 5741.55 EUR, plus allowances based on eligibility, and is exempt from French income tax. The selection process includes tests in December 2024 and panel interviews in February 202
