Job Overview: The Gender, Youth, and Social Inclusion Advisor will play a crucial role in providing technical oversight for the development and implementation of programming related to gender, youth, and social inclusion within the anticipated Resilience Food Security Activity (RFSA). This position is pivotal in ensuring that high-quality programming is delivered effectively, aligning with CRS's mission to serve the poor and vulnerable. The advisor will be responsible for facilitating, monitoring, and reporting on all RFSA project activities that pertain to gender, youth, and social inclusion, while also supporting consortium and local partners in coordinating and implementing these activities. The role requires a strategic approach to design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and implementation, ensuring that all activities are in line with CRS quality principles, donor guidelines, and industry best practices. The advisor will also be tasked with enhancing the impact of the RFSA award through continuous improvement and learning, ensuring that the program adapts to the needs of the communities served.
Duties and Responsibilities: The advisor will lead the design, implementation, and measurement of gender, youth, and social inclusion activities throughout the project cycle. Key responsibilities include managing talent for gender, youth, and social inclusion, providing coaching and performance management for direct reports, and facilitating program learning through research and dissemination of best practices. The advisor will oversee technical assistance and capacity strengthening activities for staff and partner organizations, ensuring that partnerships relevant to gender, youth, and social inclusion are effectively identified and strengthened. Additionally, the advisor will ensure timely project expenditures in line with financial plans and represent CRS in strategic activities with key stakeholders. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to foster relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in International Development, International Relations, Gender Studies, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of relevant field-based project management experience is required, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in gender, youth, disability, and social inclusion. Demonstrated experience in managing complex, high-value projects and using intersectional approaches to integrate various socio-cultural elements into programming is essential. Candidates should also have experience in data collection and analysis for program management, as well as staff management experience conducive to a learning environment. While not required, previous work experience in Niger and proficiency in local languages would be advantageous.
Educational Background: A Master's Degree in International Development, International Relations, Gender Studies, or a related field is required. Additional relevant experience may substitute for some educational requirements, highlighting the importance of practical knowledge and skills in the field.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, particularly in areas related to gender, youth, disability, and social inclusion. Experience in coaching and staff management is also necessary, as well as familiarity with project grants management and the ability to write high-quality technical proposals and reports.
Languages: Proficiency in English and French is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of local languages would be considered an asset, enhancing communication and engagement with local communities and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This position is contingent upon donor funding and approval of the candidate. The role is based in Niger, with anticipated travel of up to 40% to project sites.
