Job Overview:
The Young Associate position is designed for recent graduates who will work under the supervision of the head of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) team within the OECD Centre for Skills. The role involves contributing to cross-country projects and country-specific VET initiatives. The Young Associate will engage with various aspects of the OECD Centre for Skills, gaining exposure to the broader work of the organization. Responsibilities include conducting in-depth analyses of policy issues, working with national and international datasets, and drafting reports and technical papers aimed at policymakers. The position also entails contributing to workshops, seminars, and high-level meetings, utilizing effective methodologies to present findings and evidence.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Young Associate will be responsible for identifying relevant policy issues and conducting thorough analyses of specific topics or countries. This includes extracting policy lessons and developing constructive policy advice. The role requires undertaking analysis of various datasets, including OECD datasets and labour force surveys, and contributing to the development of policy questionnaires. The Young Associate will conduct desk research and draft chapters for country and thematic reports, working papers, and technical papers. Additionally, the position involves contributing substantive input to other products and events of the OECD Centre for Skills, such as country case studies, blog posts, presentations, and briefing notes. The Young Associate will also assist in designing and delivering workshops, seminars, and high-level meetings, employing effective tools and methodologies to present analysis and evidence.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in economics, public policy, social science, or a related discipline, with graduation dates between 1 January 2024 and 1 September 202
  • Applications from those who already hold or are enrolled in a Master’s, PhD, or equivalent degree will not be considered. Coursework in at least two of the following areas is required: statistics, econometrics, economics, education, public policy, and labour economics. Desirable coursework includes research methods, policy evaluation, education policy, and labour economics. Candidates should demonstrate effective written communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and data analysis proficiency, including knowledge of statistical software such as STATA, R, or Python.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as economics, public policy, or social science. The degree must be obtained between 1 January 2024 and 1 September 202

Experience:
