Job Overview: The Senior Statistician/Analyst position within the Statistics and Data Directorate (SDD) focuses on leading the statistical and conceptual work of the Productivity and Price Section of the Trade and Productivity Statistics Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Section's work program, managing research projects related to productivity, labor markets, prices, and purchasing power parities (PPPs). This role requires the development of innovative products that provide policy-relevant insights and the ability to influence and design analytical techniques related to measurement issues. The candidate will report directly to the Head of the Trade and Productivity Statistics Division and will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and relevance of statistical outputs.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Statistician/Analyst include managing the work of the Section to ensure efficient collection, processing, and storage of statistics databases. The candidate will review press releases and blogs produced by the Section, supervise and motivate staff, and contribute to their professional development. Analytical leadership is a key component, requiring the candidate to influence and design innovative analytical techniques related to productivity, labor, prices, and PPPs. The role involves drafting working papers and reports, contributing to research activities across the OECD, overseeing the annual update of productivity indicators, and preparing clear and concise reports and presentations for policy makers. The candidate will also engage in collaboration with national delegations, statistical offices, and other international organizations to enhance statistical methodology and data dissemination.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess an advanced university degree or equivalent qualification in statistics, econometrics, or economics, with a PhD being a distinct advantage. A minimum of eight years of experience is required, with several years spent working on statistics in a national administration or international organization. The candidate should have extensive experience in economic and statistical research, with publications in international reviews. Deep knowledge of measurement issues related to productivity, prices, labor markets, or PPPs is essential, along with excellent analytical skills and proficiency in advanced statistical and econometric methods. Familiarity with data science and analytics is a plus, and excellent drafting skills are a prerequisite. Experience in managing teams and delivering team-based projects is also necessary.
Educational Background: Candidates are expected to have an advanced university degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as statistics, econometrics, or economics. A PhD is highly desirable and would provide a significant advantage in the selection process.
Experience: The position requires at least eight years of professional experience, with a significant portion of that time spent working on statistics in either a national administration or an international organization. The candidate should have a proven track record of economic and statistical research, including publications in recognized international reviews. Experience in managing teams and delivering projects in a collaborative environment is also essential.
Languages: Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages, English or French, is mandatory, along with knowledge of the other language. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to achieving a good working level in the second language.

The monthly salary starts at 10,640.30 EUR, depending on experience, and is exempt from French income tax.
