Job Overview:
The Data Co-ordinator position within the Export Credits and Competition Division (TAD/XCC) of the OECD is crucial for maintaining and expanding the OECD MAGIC database, which quantifies subsidies received by major manufacturing firms worldwide. The role involves reporting directly to the Head of the Division and requires a strong focus on data collection, management, and analysis. The successful candidate will be expected to develop automated tools using statistical software to streamline processes, maintain documentation for transparency, and contribute to analytical reports and publications. This position is integral to supporting the division's mission of providing timely information and analysis to improve trade and agricultural policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Data Co-ordinator will have a variety of responsibilities including: assisting in the collection and processing of firm-level financial information; verifying and validating data accuracy and coherence; developing automated tools using statistical software such as Stata, R, Python, and SQL; maintaining detailed documentation of data sources and methodologies; analyzing data on international trade and policies; drafting analytical reports and policy briefs; providing technical support for data-related projects; managing user access to the OECD MAGIC database; offering data visualization solutions; and maintaining relevant OECD webpages to ensure up-to-date information is available.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess an advanced university degree or equivalent in statistics, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related scientific field. A strong knowledge of statistical databases and information technology, including basic programming skills, is essential. Additionally, experience in the production and use of statistics, particularly in an international or national statistical office, is preferred. The ability to handle confidential information with meticulous attention to detail is crucial, along with experience in programming and coding solutions for non-advanced users.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree or equivalent is required, ideally in a field related to statistics, economics, mathematics, or engineering. A solid understanding of statistical databases and information technology is also necessary, with a focus on programming skills that can support data management and analysis tasks.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have experience in statistical production and documentation, preferably gained in a statistical office. Experience dealing with confidential information and a meticulous approach to data verification is essential. Familiarity with programming and statistical concepts is also required, along with the ability to develop tailored coding solutions for specific tasks.

Languages:
Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) is mandatory, with a commitment to achieving a good working level in the other language. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile for this position.

Additional Notes:
This position offers a 2-year fixed-term appointment with the possibility of renewal. The monthly salary starts at 4,432 EUR, with additional allowances based on eligibility, and is exempt from French income tax.
