Job Overview:
The position of director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director is crucial as the individual will serve as the official representative of Solidarités International in Haiti. The Country Director is responsible for the overall functioning of the mission, proposing strategies based on the geopolitical and humanitarian context, and ensuring their implementation once validated. This role involves controlling and guaranteeing that projects are executed in accordance with the charter of Solidarités International and internal and contractual procedures. The Country Director mobilizes the necessary material and financial resources for the effective conduct of programs and oversees their management. Additionally, the individual coordinates the teams in place and ensures their safety during the mission. The Country Director acts as the primary contact for the headquarters of Solidarités International.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities of the Country Director include:
  • Coordination and strategic orientation of the mission.
  • Ensuring operational relevance and quality through monitoring of operations.
  • Management of resources, including human resources.
  • Ensuring safety and security for all staff.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with donors and seeking funding opportunities.
  • Internal and external communication regarding the mission.
  • Representation of Solidarités International in various forums and discussions. Specific challenges include structuring and managing new teams, enhancing SI's positioning in humanitarian coordination, exploring new activity opportunities outside Port-au-Prince, and continuing to engage with donors to sustain the mission in the coming years.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a minimum of a BAC + 4 university degree in the humanitarian sector. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in similar roles, with prior experience in Haiti being appreciated. Strong management experience and experience in humanitarian project coordination are essential. Candidates should also have experience in security management and a proven track record in the humanitarian sector.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university degree at least at the BAC + 4 level in a relevant field related to humanitarian work. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of humanitarian operations and the challenges faced in the field.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least one prior experience in a similar position. This experience should encompass various aspects of humanitarian work, including project management, team leadership, and operational oversight.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and French is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication with local authorities, stakeholders, and international partners.

The position is a short-term contract with a desired start date of September 16, 2024, and a duration of one year. The salary is competitive, starting from EUR 3740 gross per month, which includes a base salary of EUR 3400 plus a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly, along with a monthly per diem of USD 75
