Job Overview: The Compliance and Risk Management Officer position is crucial for ensuring that all documentation related to transactions is properly filed and backed up in accordance with NRC's policies and donor guidelines. The role involves developing a standard filing system that guarantees complete documentation for all transactions. The officer will be responsible for capturing both electronic and paper documents in a central repository, ensuring that information is stored in an organized manner for easy retrieval. The officer will also conduct monthly spot checks to ensure adherence to the Securing Supporting Documentation procedures across all area offices and assist the Compliance teams in audit preparations. This position requires a proactive approach to managing documentation and supporting compliance efforts within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure proper filing and backup of support documentation for all transactions.
Develop and maintain a standard filing system for complete documentation.
Capture and store electronic and paper documents in a central repository.
Organize information for easy retrieval and archive historical data.
Secure all supporting documentation both physically and digitally.
Conduct monthly spot checks to ensure compliance with Securing Supporting Documentation procedures across area offices.
Assist Compliance teams in preparing for audits.
Act as the focal point for the Ready-To-Audit (RTA) process and maintain relevant folders.
Support backlog projects assigned by the Line Manager or Head of Support. 1
Update NRC library references with all SOPs, policies, and guidance notes implemented in Palestine. 1
Keep the waiver and NFF tracker updated.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Professional knowledge of compliance and risk management.
Good computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Knowledge of spoken and written English is essential.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Support Function Officer in a humanitarian or recovery context.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant university field is required for this position. This educational background should provide the necessary knowledge and skills related to compliance, risk management, and documentation processes.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience working in a support function role within a humanitarian or recovery context. This experience should include familiarity with compliance procedures and documentation management.
Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not explicitly required.
Additional Notes: This position offers an open-ended contract and is based in Jerusalem. The role is classified as Grade (05) Step (01), with salary and benefits determined according to the Jerusalem Duty Station.
