The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) was established in 1996 with the mission to lead and inspire the world towards achieving a shared vision of zero new HIV infections, zero discrimination, and zero AIDS-related deaths. Job Overview:
The position of UN Volunteer - Global Partnership Advisor involves working under the supervision of Dr. Zhou Kai, the Global Partnership Advisor at the UNAIDS Office in China. The role is pivotal in supporting UNAIDS' mission to enhance global partnerships and resource mobilization efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The volunteer will engage in various tasks that include reviewing and analyzing information related to programs, participating in international and national meetings, and coordinating South-South cooperation initiatives. The volunteer will also be expected to strengthen their understanding of volunteerism and contribute to the UNV community through various activities. This position is crucial for ensuring that UNAIDS can effectively support China's domestic HIV agenda and contribute to global health diplomacy efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The UN Volunteer will undertake a variety of tasks, including:
  • Reviewing and analyzing information and data related to UNAIDS programs, seeking feedback from national and international partners, particularly in global health and South-South collaboration.
  • Planning, organizing, and participating in international and national meetings and conferences on global partnerships, including taking meeting minutes and sharing them with partners.
  • Coordinating and supporting the initiation, implementation, and evaluation of South-South cooperation-related programs in collaboration with stakeholders such as the National Disease Control and Prevention Administration and UNAIDS co-sponsors.
  • Participating in health-related tasks and programs within the office and with co-sponsor agencies.
  • Communicating with partners and stakeholders to follow up on programs as necessary.
  • Supporting the organization of relevant events and activities to facilitate UNAIDS work priorities.
  • Engaging in activities that promote volunteerism and contribute to UNV publications and initiatives.
  • Assisting with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly arrived volunteers and promoting online volunteering.
