Job Overview:
The Gender and SRH Analyst position is crucial for supporting the design, implementation, and monitoring of gender and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) programs in alignment with national priorities. Reporting to the Representative, the Analyst will engage in policy analysis and contribute to the advancement of the ICPD Agenda and Agenda 203
  • This role involves strategic analysis, knowledge generation, policy advocacy, and partnership development, with a focus on enhancing South-South cooperation opportunities. The Analyst will play a key role in ensuring that gender and SRH components are effectively integrated into UNFPA’s country program, providing analytical inputs to inform policy and project formulation, and supporting the monitoring of results achieved in these areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Gender and SRH Analyst will be responsible for several key functions, including: 1) Contributing analytical and technical inputs to the formulation and design of gender and SRH components of the country program and associated projects, ensuring alignment with government priorities and UNFPA policies. 2) Supporting the analysis of national and subnational trends, gaps, and challenges related to gender and SRH issues in China, and identifying strategic entry points for new initiatives. 3) Generating knowledge from program implementation by synthesizing findings, documenting lessons learned, and drafting materials for dissemination. 4) Assisting in the development of measurable, reportable, and verifiable gender and SRH data and indicators as part of the Monitoring and Evaluation framework. 5) Supporting the identification and development of partnerships for South-South cooperation, enhancing knowledge sharing on gender and SRH best practices. 6) Contributing to resource mobilization efforts by preparing documentation and participating in donor proposal development and public information events.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in gender studies, public health, public policy, demography, or a related social science field. Additionally, experience in gender, gender-based violence (GBV), and sexual and reproductive health and rights is desirable. Proficiency in current office software applications is also required. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to UNFPA values, including integrity, cultural diversity, and a willingness to embrace change.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in gender studies, public health, public policy, demography, or a related social science field is required for this position. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of gender and SRH issues and for effectively contributing to policy formulation and program implementation.

Experience:
Candidates should have relevant experience in the field of gender, GBV, and sexual and reproductive health and rights. This experience is crucial for understanding the challenges and opportunities in addressing gender and SRH issues, as well as for contributing to the development of effective programs and policies. Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks is also beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in Chinese is required for this position, as it is essential for effective communication and collaboration within the local context. A working knowledge of English is also required, enabling the Analyst to engage with international partners and contribute to global discussions on gender and SRH issues.
