Job Overview: The Monitoring and Reporting Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the WHO's country presence by implementing cooperation strategies that align with the health priorities of Member States. The incumbent will be responsible for developing analytical reports and monitoring plans to evaluate the impact of health actions taken. This position requires a high degree of efficiency and sound judgment, as the officer will coordinate activities in designated areas without direct supervisory responsibilities. The role involves data collection, analysis, and reporting, ensuring that technical activities are coherent with action plans and contribute to the overall direction of the Programme. The officer will also assist in capacity-building activities and prepare presentations for internal and external dissemination meetings, thereby enhancing the visibility and effectiveness of WHO's health initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a monitoring plan using electronic data collection tools to facilitate technical report development on a periodic basis.
Conduct preliminary data collection using available monitoring tools to ensure coherence with action plans.
Perform periodic data analysis as per the monitoring plan and develop quality analytical reports and presentations using statistical and data visualization tools.
Conduct stakeholder mapping and analysis, including interviews to support stakeholder engagement analysis.
Coordinate with technical staff for ad-hoc data collection to generate periodic technical reports, presentations, success stories, and concept papers.
Conduct field visits to monitor the implementation of action plans and record progress using an e-tool.
Perform Gender Intersectionality analysis using disaggregated data collected from field visits.
Develop a value proposition statement using financial and technical data.
Produce periodic donor reports in line with donor requirements. 1
Assist in capacity-building activities for WHO Country Office staff and government focal points as needed. 1
Prepare presentations using analyzed data for dissemination in meetings. 1
Assist in mid-term and end-of-project evaluations to assess the effectiveness of health interventions.
Required Qualifications: Essential qualifications include completion of secondary education supplemented by administrative training or technical courses related to the work performed. A first-level university degree in Information Management, basic life sciences, Epidemiology, or business administration is desirable. Candidates must have at least 6 years of progressive experience in developing statistics and charts in Excel, as well as proficiency in using statistical tools such as SPSS, SAS, GraphPad, or PowerBI. Knowledge of administrative guidelines and procedures related to programmatic activities is essential, along with the ability to work with diverse educational and cultural backgrounds. Good written communication skills in English are required, and experience in coordination is considered an asset.
Educational Background: Candidates must have completed secondary education, with additional training in administrative or technical fields relevant to the position. A first-level university degree in a related field such as Information Management, basic life sciences, Epidemiology, or business administration is highly desirable and will enhance the candidate's qualifications for the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in the development of statistics and charts, as well as the use of statistical tools for data analysis. Experience in monitoring and reporting on emergency projects is desirable, as it will provide the necessary background for the incumbent to effectively contribute to the WHO's health initiatives. Candidates should also possess knowledge of administrative guidelines and procedures related to programmatic activities, which will aid in the successful execution of their responsibilities.
Languages: Excellent knowledge of English is mandatory, along with proficiency in the local language. Additional Notes: The position offers an annual base salary starting at JOD 20,908, which is net of tax. This vacancy notice may be used to fill other similar positions at the same grade level.
