Job Overview: The Communications Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the Finance, Investment and Global Relations Division (ENV/FIG) within the OECD Environment Directorate. This position requires an experienced and motivated individual to develop and implement a comprehensive communication and dissemination strategy aimed at enhancing the influence and impact of the Division's work. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Division and collaborate closely with the ENV Communications Manager, the Directorate's central communications team, and the Directorate for Communications (COM). The role involves working in a dynamic environment, focusing on effective communications, networking, and outreach strategies to maximize the reach and impact of the Division's activities. The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for leading innovative approaches to disseminate the Division's work, ensuring that communication efforts align with the overall objectives of the OECD.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Communications Coordinator will manage and coordinate communications efforts, working with senior management to develop and implement strategies for knowledge management and dissemination of the Division's policy messages and outputs. Key responsibilities include leading the development of communication strategies for various platforms such as the website and social media, overseeing day-to-day communications tasks, and managing media relations. The Coordinator will also develop key messages and high-quality content for communications materials, ensuring accessibility and clarity. Additionally, the role involves managing the Division's websites, ensuring they are regularly updated and of high quality, coordinating the development of the Division's publications program, and leading the creation of communication plans for major events and publications.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, environment, political science, international studies, business, or related fields. A minimum of three to five years of experience in a communication role with similar responsibilities is required, preferably within an international organization. The ideal candidate should have experience in project and workflow management, public affairs, stakeholder outreach, and event management. Proficiency in media and social media engagement is essential, along with a strong understanding of professional editorial standards and online communication tools.
Educational Background: A university degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as communications, journalism, environment, political science, international studies, or business is required for this position. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of communication within an international context and the specific challenges related to environmental policies.
Experience: The position requires at least three to five years of professional experience in a communication role with similar responsibilities. Candidates should have experience in managing projects and workflows, particularly in high-pressure environments. Familiarity with public affairs, stakeholder outreach, and event management is essential. Active professional experience with media and social media platforms is required, along with knowledge of website construction and content development.
Languages: Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages, English or French, is mandatory, along with knowledge of the other language.
