Job Overview:
The Ethics and Compliance Coordinator will work under the authority of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director and the functional authority of the Regional Ethics and Compliance Expert at headquarters. The primary role is to ensure the conformity of internal practices and promote good internal control practices. The coordinator will contribute to the success of external audits and ensure the implementation of internal control recommendations. This position is crucial in preventing and addressing abuses and fostering a culture of risk management within the organization. The coordinator will collaborate with other coordinators and field coordinators to roll out the Safeguarding action plan and assess partnerships with international and national partners, providing recommendations for fair partnerships. The role also involves being the main contact for audits and internal procedures with the head office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the Ethics and Compliance Coordinator include leading and coordinating all upcoming external audits, rolling out the PSEA-H and Safeguarding action plans, structuring the compliance department, supporting the Country Director in implementing internal audit recommendations, and maintaining the Partnerships/Localization agenda with a focus on due diligence and risk management. The coordinator will also be responsible for verifying compliance with internal practices, ensuring the dissemination of good practices, and actively contributing to the prevention of abuses. The role requires adapting to access challenges within the country and supporting local partners in a partnership approach.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university-level degree, preferably a Master’s degree in International Affairs, Humanitarian or Development studies. They should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector and 2-4 years in similar positions. Technical skills required include auditing, compliance, advanced knowledge of donor guidelines, and expertise in abuse prevention and management. Candidates should also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously.

Educational Background:
A university-level degree is required, with a preference for a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as International Affairs, Humanitarian or Development studies. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and compliance requirements.

Experience:
The position requires 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 2-4 years specifically in similar roles. This level of experience is necessary to navigate the challenges of compliance and ethics in a humanitarian context effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while knowledge of French and Myanmar/Burmese is considered an asset. Proficiency in these languages will facilitate communication with diverse stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of the role.

The position is a short-term contract with a duration of 12 months, starting on 07/10/202
  • The salary is based on experience, starting from EUR 2860 gross per month, plus a monthly Per Diem of 700 USD in Yangon or 750 USD in Bangkok. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization also provides a break system, allowing for time off every three months, along with an insurance package covering healthcare expenses and essential vaccinations.
