Job Overview: The Child Protection Coordinator FSR # 623 position is primarily focused on enhancing the capacity of child protection programming through specialized technical support and training. The coordinator will lead initiatives aimed at strengthening the skills of child protection staff and partner organizations, ensuring high-quality prevention and response services. This role requires a proactive approach to capacity development, project management, and collaboration with various teams to achieve program goals. The coordinator will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating ongoing projects, ensuring compliance with donor regulations, and advocating for children's rights within the community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Planning: Lead the development of project proposals and donor concept notes related to child protection. Collaborate with the program team to meet program objectives and coordinate training initiatives. Support recruitment efforts to enhance organizational capacity in child protection services.
Capacity Building: Conduct direct training sessions and Training of Trainers (ToTs) on child protection topics for staff, partners, and volunteers. Work with other teams to implement integrated capacity-building initiatives and provide technical supervision and mentoring to child protection staff.
Project Management: Offer technical advice to child protection program teams, conduct regular evaluations of projects, and ensure timely and accurate reporting to donors.
Human Resources Management: Supervise child protection staff, manage recruitment and training processes, and maintain open communication with field staff. Assess training needs and ensure performance evaluations are conducted.
Monitoring and Reporting: Analyze community feedback, document program activities, and contribute to the assessment of child protection standards. Provide technical support for best practices in child protection programs.
Coordination, Advocacy, and Representation: Engage with child protection leadership, advocate for children's rights, and participate in coordination meetings to promote child protection principles.

Required Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as psychology, social work, or education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of 7 years of progressive managerial experience in child protection, particularly in resilience-building programs.
At least 5 years of experience managing diverse teams and institutional donor budgets from organizations such as USAID, UN, and ECHO.
Demonstrated experience in the development sector and international health organizations, with strong knowledge of child protection competencies and technical resources.
Proven experience in staff capacity building and training facilitation, including the development of training materials.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as psychology, social work, or education. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. The educational background should provide a strong foundation in child protection principles and practices.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant managerial experience in child protection, with a focus on resilience-building programs. Candidates should have experience managing diverse teams and institutional donor budgets, as well as a demonstrated understanding of the development sector and international health organizations.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, with the ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret both technical and non-technical information. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the local context.
