Job Overview: The Project Manager for the REPAC Project will oversee and support the day-to-day activities of various phases of the project, ensuring successful implementation and delivery of project outputs within specified tolerances of time, cost, quality, scope, risk, and benefits. The role requires familiarity with agreements between the donor and UNRWA, preparation of project documentation, and development of the Project Implementation Plan (PIP). The Project Manager will monitor project implementation, report progress to management, propose remedial measures for deviations, and manage project budgets effectively. This position also involves preparing high-quality reports and presentations, ensuring adherence to UNRWA procedures, and providing guidance on technical aspects of the project. The Project Manager will coordinate shelter rehabilitation efforts, manage tendering and contracting processes, and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including the Jordanian government and local authorities. The role is crucial for facilitating project design and implementation in collaboration with other UNRWA departments and ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee and support the day-to-day activities of the REPAC Project, ensuring successful implementation and delivery of outputs within specified tolerances.
Acquaint with agreements signed between the donor and UNRWA, preparing all necessary project documentation regarding schedule, budget, and project setup.
Monitor project implementation according to the PIP and report progress to management, proposing remedial measures for deviations.
Produce a detailed project budget and establish effective budget tracking, including monthly financial forecasts.
Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and documentation on project progress, achievements, and lessons learned.
Ensure adherence to UNRWA procedures and regulations in all technical and financial matters.
Provide guidance on technical aspects of the project and oversee construction works in selected camps.
Support the preparation and implementation of Camp Improvement Plans (CIP) through participatory planning and community engagement.
Coordinate shelter rehabilitation from an urban and architectural perspective. 1
Manage tendering and contracting of construction works with relevant divisions. 1

Applicants with a bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of progressive work experience in the same fields may be considered.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience in programme/project management and monitoring, including 2 continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA and the candidate's country of citizenship.
Internationally accredited certification in project management or at least 2 additional years of relevant project management experience.
Excellent working knowledge and experience of project management software (e.g., MS Project).
Experience in managing construction upgrading and/or rehabilitation of infrastructure projects in complex environments similar to refugee camps.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree from an accredited institution in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Architecture, or related fields. Those with a bachelor's degree and significant work experience may also be considered for the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience in programme/project management and monitoring, with at least 2 years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA and the candidate's country of citizenship. Experience in managing infrastructure projects in complex environments is essential, along with a strong background in project management.
Languages: The position mandates an excellent command of written and spoken English. Working knowledge of written and spoken Arabic is desired but not mandatory.
Additional Notes: The position is based in the UNRWA Jordan Field Office in Amman and is expected to last for 6 months. The consultant will report to the Chief of Infrastructure and Camp Improvement Programme and the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director of UNRWA Affairs (Programmes). The role may require travel within the field to perform duties. The monthly basic salary for this position is USD 600
