Job Overview: The Technical Officer position is situated within the Social Security Development (SSD) Department of the ISSA. The SSD is responsible for developing the technical knowledge required to achieve ISSA's goals of promoting excellence in social security administration. The incumbent will report directly to the Director of the SSD and will be responsible for executing technical and specialized projects related to SSD activities. This role involves ensuring timely delivery of project results and contributing to the analysis of social security trends, particularly in relation to crises and social changes. The Technical Officer will primarily work with various social security databases, including those that contain national profiles based on the publication 'Social Security Programs Throughout the World' (SSPTW) and data on international agreements.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Technical Officer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: editing country profiles in a clear, concise, and standardized language; resolving quality issues to ensure that information is complete, coherent, and up-to-date; assisting in validating data collected for national profiles and other databases; serving as a liaison with social security organizations to gather and consolidate data; contributing to data analysis and assisting in the preparation of ISSA publications based on analyzed trends; supporting SSD staff and external collaborators in various activities related to social security databases; maintaining and updating information on social security in the database and its dissemination on the ISSA website; and undertaking other tasks as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in a relevant field. A higher university degree is considered an asset. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience in the area of social security systems and legislation. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are essential.
