Job Overview: The position of Chargé(e) d’Appui à la gestion de projet-adjoint(e) is crucial for the successful implementation of projects under the supervision of the project manager. The role involves maintaining project documentation, ensuring financial management, and supporting the project manager in various administrative tasks. The incumbent will be responsible for tracking project progress, managing budgets, and preparing reports. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Chargé(e) d’Appui à la gestion de projet-adjoint(e) include:
Project Implementation: Maintaining project files, including internal and external project reports, and informing the project manager of any deviations from the plan.
Financial Management and Procurement: Keeping all financial documents organized for verification and review, ensuring accurate data entry into UNOPS' integrated management software, monitoring project expenditures and budget compliance, and alerting the project manager of any financial deficits or excessive spending.
Reporting and Documentation: Actively participating in the preparation of project reports and documents, managing project documentation, and supporting the project manager in ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
Stakeholder Coordination and Communication: Assisting the project manager in coordinating communications and maintaining strong relationships with project partners to facilitate activity implementation and improve data quality.
Field Monitoring: Participating in field monitoring missions as required to ensure project objectives are met.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's degree or secondary school diploma with six years of relevant professional experience. Candidates with a higher education degree in public management, public administration, finance, economics, project management, international relations, or a related field will have an advantage. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate experience in project management support, operations management, financial and budget management, reporting, and coordination.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's degree or a secondary school diploma. A higher education degree in relevant fields such as public management, public administration, finance, economics, project management, or international relations is considered an asset. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of project management and the operational requirements of the role.
Experience: Candidates are required to have at least six years of professional experience in project management support, operations management, financial and budget management, reporting, and coordination for those with a Bachelor's degree or secondary school diploma. For candidates with a higher education degree, a minimum of two years of relevant experience is required. Experience and demonstrated knowledge of UN procurement, finance, human resources management, and administrative rules and regulations will be considered an asset.
Languages: Fluency in French, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Additionally, an intermediate level of English, both written and spoken, is required.
