Job Overview: The Technical Officer position is situated within the Social Security Development Branch of the ISSA, which focuses on enhancing the technical knowledge necessary for achieving the organization's objectives. The incumbent will report directly to the Director of the Social Security Development Branch and will be responsible for the implementation of technical and professional projects related to social security. This role involves the timely delivery of project outputs and requires the incumbent to engage in various activities, including editing national country profiles based on the Social Security Programs Throughout the World (SSPTW) publication. The position also entails supporting other ISSA social security databases and contributing to the analysis of social security developments. The incumbent will work collaboratively within task-oriented teams to ensure that ISSA's activities are effectively executed, particularly in relation to data collection and analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be tasked with editing country profiles to ensure clarity, conciseness, and standardization of language while resolving any quality issues to maintain the completeness and coherence of information. This includes validating collected data for SSPTW country profiles and assisting in the selection and classification of data sources. The role requires liaising with social security organizations across various regions, especially in French or Spanish-speaking areas, to compile and consolidate inputs for the country profiles. Additionally, the incumbent will analyze data within ISSA databases, support the preparation of publications based on analyzed developments, and contribute to the maintenance and updating of social security information on the ISSA web portal. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a first-level degree in a relevant field, with an advanced university degree being advantageous. A minimum of three years of experience in social security schemes and regulations is required. The role demands proficiency in English and a good working knowledge of another official ISSA language (French, German, or Spanish), with a strong preference for candidates who are proficient in French. Competencies such as the ability to cross-check data, prepare high-quality reports, maintain accurate records, and work effectively in a team are essential. Strong drafting skills for project proposals and reports, good interpersonal and communication abilities, analytical skills, and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively are also required.
Educational Background: The position requires a first-level degree in a relevant field, such as social security, public administration, or a related discipline. An advanced university degree would be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's qualifications for the role.
Experience: Candidates should have at least three years of relevant experience in the field of social security schemes and regulations.
