Job Overview:
The internship program at the CTBTO is designed to provide university students and recent graduates with a valuable learning and development experience in fields related to the Commission’s activities. Interns are expected to engage in specific practical assignments that align with the needs of the organization. The internship offers an opportunity to work closely with the Office of the Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO), which is responsible for overseeing the information technology architecture, security, communications, networks, and application development within the Provisional Technical Secretariat (PTS). Interns will assist in researching industry-related topics, which may involve conducting interviews, utilizing print and online resources, and performing self-studies. The role also includes writing reports and preparing structured drafts tailored for specific audiences, thereby enhancing the intern's professional skills and knowledge in the field of information technology and project management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be tasked with researching industry-related topics that pertain to the planning, design, development, and implementation of emerging technologies, particularly in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and transformational IT projects. They will assist in the development of terms of reference for IT projects, gather and analyze data on ICT-related topics, and prepare visual presentations including graphs, PowerPoint slides, and spreadsheets. Additionally, interns will help develop sites using SharePoint Online and other software tools, prepare summary reports, check facts, proofread, and edit project documents and reports to ensure accuracy and consistency. The scope of the internship tasks will be adjusted according to the candidate's educational level and degree program, allowing for a tailored experience that aligns with their academic background and career aspirations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates applying for the internship must be at least 18 years old and no more than 35 years old. They should have completed at least two years of full-time study that will lead to a degree in Information Technology or Computer Science. Furthermore, applicants may apply up to two years after completing their bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree. This ensures that the internship is accessible to a wide range of candidates, including recent graduates who are looking to gain practical experience in their field of study.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes a minimum of two years of full-time study in a relevant field such as Information Technology or Computer Science. Internship opportunities at the CTBTO are available throughout the year, and assignments are filled based on the organization's current needs. It is important to note that an intern is neither a staff member nor an official of the Commission.
