Job Overview:
The Driver position at WHO involves providing transportation services for the WHO Representative and other high-ranking officials. The role requires ensuring compliance with WHO rules and regulations, particularly concerning security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and safety. The driver will be responsible for facilitating immigration and customs formalities at the airport, delivering and collecting official documents, and maintaining the vehicle in optimal condition. This position is crucial for supporting the operational efficiency of WHO's mission in the country, ensuring that officials can travel safely and punctually to fulfill their duties. The driver will also be expected to perform messenger services within the office as required, contributing to the overall administrative support of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Drive the WHO Representative and other high-ranking officials to various destinations, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Meet official personnel at the airport and facilitate immigration and customs formalities.
  • Deliver and collect official documents, mail, parcels, and other items to and from UN Agencies, Ministries, Embassies, and other relevant entities.
  • Maintain the vehicle by checking fuel, oil, battery, brakes, tires, and performing minor repairs as needed.
  • Log official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all vehicle-related documents are up to date, including insurance, registration, and licenses.
  • Procure minor supplies and manage payments for telephone and fax bills.
  • Assist in the issuance of visa requests and renewal of car licenses.
  • Follow established procedures in case of accidents or incidents involving the vehicle. 1
  • Perform messenger services within the office as required by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of secondary education or equivalent.
  • Valid professional driving license for light and heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and skills in operating and maintaining different types of vehicles.
  • Good knowledge of the topography of Saudi Arabia and full proficiency in local traffic regulations.
  • Proven ability to deal with clients with tact and respect for diversity.

Educational Background:
The position requires at least a secondary education or equivalent. Candidates must possess a valid professional driving license for both light and heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring they are qualified to operate the necessary transportation for WHO officials.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least two years of professional experience in driving cars. Experience in a similar role, particularly within international organizations or governmental agencies, is desirable. Familiarity with the operational protocols of such organizations can be an advantage.

Languages:
Essential: Expert knowledge of Arabic is required for effective communication. Desirable: A beginner's knowledge of English is preferred, as it may facilitate communication with non-Arabic speaking officials and staff.

Additional Notes:
The position offers an annual net base salary starting at SAR 152,949, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance. Employees are entitled to 30 days of annual leave. This vacancy notice may be used to fill other similar positions at the same grade level.
