Job Overview: The UN Volunteer will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of key outputs for the Economic Commission for Western Asia (ECWA). The primary responsibilities include finalizing the 10th National Development Plan (NDP) Assessment, contributing to the upcoming XB Project with Oman, and assisting in the development of research deliverables for the team. Duties and Responsibilities: The UN Volunteer will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis to support ongoing and planned XB projects, including the mid-term review of the 10th National Development Plan (NDP) and the upcoming market study for the building sector in Oman. Specific duties include collecting, analyzing, and compiling data using various tools and software; managing and updating databases to ensure data integrity; providing research assistance by consolidating information from diverse sources; and contributing to documentation through abstracts, summaries, and content for publications. The volunteer will also participate in meetings, share project updates, and incorporate feedback to ensure efficient project execution. Additionally, the volunteer will facilitate effective communication and collaboration with ESCWA departments, assist in preparing presentations and charts related to XB projects, evaluate and verify the accuracy of data sets, and maintain an organized body of electronic reference files for quick access to critical information. The volunteer may also be required to perform additional tasks and ad hoc assignments as requested by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the UN Volunteer position should possess strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to collect and interpret data effectively. Proficiency in using various data management tools and software is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
