Job Overview: The Reporting and Communication Officer (RCO) will work under the supervision of the Grants and Partnerships Coordinator. The primary responsibility of the RCO is to produce and synthesize high-quality reports, proposals, assessment reports, and other documents for external distribution. The RCO will collaborate closely with various teams within the mission to enhance internal communication and develop a communication strategy aimed at external audiences. Given the sensitive nature of external communications in the current context, the RCO will play a crucial role in ensuring that the organization's messaging is clear, effective, and appropriate for the situation. The position is vital for maintaining the flow of information both internally and externally, especially as new projects are launched and the need for communication materials increases.
Duties and Responsibilities: The RCO will be responsible for the following duties:
Producing high-quality reports and proposals for ongoing and new projects.
Synthesizing assessment reports and other documentation for external stakeholders.
Collaborating with the Grants and Partnerships Coordinator and program teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Supporting the development of communication materials for donors and other external audiences.
Participating in the improvement of project monitoring tools, particularly for reporting purposes.
Assisting in the launch of communication projects, such as podcasts, funded by CDCS.
Ensuring quality reporting and communication strategies are in place during the initial months of the assignment.
Maintaining effective internal communication within the coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team and with field bases.
Adapting communication strategies to the evolving security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security context in Ukraine.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
Strong written communication skills, with the ability to analyze and synthesize complex information.
Organizational skills to manage multiple reporting deadlines and communication projects.
Knowledge of institutional donor processes and requirements, particularly those of BHA, ECHO, UN, and CDCS.
Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Diplomatic skills to navigate sensitive communication contexts.
Educational Background: Candidates should have a high diploma in political science, humanitarian action, development, international relations, or law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">international law. A first experience in the humanitarian sector is considered an asset, providing a foundational understanding of the challenges and dynamics involved in humanitarian work.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have prior experience in the humanitarian sector, which will help them understand the complexities of reporting and communication in a crisis context. Experience in producing reports and communication materials for institutional donors is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory. Proficiency in Ukrainian or Russian is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in the local context and with various stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The position is a salaried role with a starting salary of EUR 1750 gross per month, which includes a base salary of EUR 1575 and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, the RCO will receive a monthly Per Diem of EUR 70
SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment. The contract duration is for 6 months, with a desired start date of 12/12/202
During the assignment, there is a system of alternation between work and time off, allowing for breaks every three months, along with a USD 850 break allowance. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions in Kyiv are favorable, with access to amenities such as parks, restaurants, and supermarkets, although occasional power cuts may occur.
