Job Overview:
The National Project Coordinator position is located in the newly established ILO Country Office in Kyiv, Ukraine. This role is integral to the implementation of the ILO Transitional Cooperation Strategy for Ukraine for the years 2024-202
  • The National Project Coordinator will be involved in the project titled 'Childcare in Ukraine: A systems approach to building back better,' which is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). The project aims to expand childcare services and enhance the legal and policy framework to facilitate women's re-entry into the workforce. The role requires frequent travel to various regions including Odessa, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Chernihiv, to support project implementation and delivery of outcomes. The National Project Coordinator will work closely with project constituents and stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of project activities, applying Monitoring and Results Measurement (MRM) in all phases of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze the country’s specific development plans, socioeconomic data, and relevant reports to identify potential technical cooperation areas, providing written analysis to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director.
  • Collaborate with project constituents and stakeholders to support the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of outcomes related to childcare services.
  • Assist in developing concept notes, project proposals, and annual work plans, including budget preparation and management.
  • Monitor project progress by reviewing work plans and reports, ensuring clarity and completeness.
  • Liaise with technical officers and counterparts in government and partner organizations to expedite project implementation.
  • Prepare budget estimates and expenditure forecasts, analyzing resource situations and recommending actions.
  • Provide programming and administrative support for childcare-related cooperation activities.
  • Participate in conferences, workshops, and training sessions, representing the project as needed.
  • Brief ILO specialists and draft official correspondence and reports. 1
  • Prepare technical reports and periodic progress updates on project activities. 1
  • Support the preparation of terms of references and documentation for consultants and service providers. 1
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Country Director.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in economics, public policies, development studies, or a relevant field. They should have a solid understanding of project management principles and the policy-making process, along with knowledge of program and budget administration.

Educational Background:

Experience:
Candidates should have at least one year of professional experience at the national level in project management, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Languages:
Excellent knowledge of Ukrainian and English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in these languages is crucial for effective communication with stakeholders and for the preparation of project documentation.

  • The entry-level salary for this position is 29,688 USD per year.
