The Senior/Specialist Investigator will be responsible for the investigation of fraud, waste, and abuse within the Egypt Country Office programming. The Senior/Specialist Investigator will serve as Lead Investigator on sensitive investigations (Level 2) and lead or support more junior investigators on a broad portfolio of cases. The Senior/Specialist Investigator will be a key team member as the country office endeavours to implement safe and responsible programs and services.
In addition to leading and supporting on investigations, the post holder will assist the Head, Risk & Compliance with:
- Risk identification and assessment including providing trend analysis on cases and recommending internal control system improvements;
- Risk prevention, control, and mitigation including providing training on the use of reporting tools, Whistle-blower protections, fraud prevention, compliance, and ethics; and
- Capacity building for implementing partners to support their internal controls, risk management, and fraud reduction systems.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
Essential:
- At minimum, Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Accounting, Law, or other related field.4-6 years of experience in communications, campaigns, community engagement, or other relevant field
- Three to five years of successful experience leading or supporting complex investigations, audits, evaluations, or inspections;
- Demonstrated knowledge of counter-fraud techniques, best practices, and/or internal controls;
- AML/CFT, due diligence/KYC, and/or compliance experience;
- Demonstrated knowledge of human resource investigation approaches including harassment, discrimination, violations of Codes of Conduct, and disciplinary investigations;
- Successful multi-disciplinary experience including working across your own organization or with a partner organization to deliver major operational change and delivering results to high standards;
- Experience of building personal internal and external networks;
- Experience in training delivery and staff coaching;
- Excellent verbal communication, report writing and presentation skills in English and Arabic language;
- Ability to take complex concepts and present them in a simple and easy to understand format;
- An understanding of how to communicate at all levels of the organization;
- Attention to detail;
- Must be able to work independently and under pressure from deadlines;
- Demonstrated ability to support adherence to policies and practices among a range of programs/functional units and among staff at all levels;
- Commitment to Save the Children values;
- Can be trusted to work independently with limited supervision; and
- Can be trusted to keep sensitive information secure.
Desired:
- Certified Fraud Examiner, or similar qualification;
- Experience of working within challenging environments;
