Job Description
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH looking for consultants for graphic design, Illustration and Layout of the APSA-IPSS publications.
The GIZ APSA project supports the African Union (AU) and regional organisations (RECs/RMs) to strengthen and effectively utilise instruments of the African Peace and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Architecture (APSA), which include the Panel of the Wise, the Continental Early Warning Systems (CEWS), the African Standby Force (ASF) and the Peace Fund. The GIZ APSA project supports the African Union Peace and Security Department through various activities and is currently looking for a consultancy firm in the area of graphic design.
In the context of its activities, GIZ APSA project is searching for a graphic designer to implement the following two tasks:
Illustrating and layouting a publication on the highlights and lessons learnt of the African Standby Capacity (civilian roster of the African Standby Force)
Illustrating and layouting a brochure on the highlights and lessons learnt of the GIZ APSA project and the GIZ IPSS project.
The consultant is expected to work no more than 25 days on graphic design and illustrations. The consultancy is home-based. No travelling will be necessary.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Eligible candidates should have the following qualifications
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field
Professional experience:
o At least four years of experience with graphic design and creative consulting;
o Proven ability to use graphic recording and design to display information in innovative ways;
o Previous experience in photo and video editing;
o Previous work experience with an international organisation in the area of peace and security is an asset;
o Previous work experience with the African Union is an asset;
Language skills: Business fluency in English
