Job Overview: The Mission Spokesperson position at the OSCE Mission to Moldova is a senior professional role that involves significant responsibilities in media relations and public affairs. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Mission Spokesperson include, but are not limited to: drafting press releases, statements, and media advisories; managing the clearance process for these documents and ensuring their timely distribution; preparing a daily news digest and summaries of news stories; developing and implementing a media strategy to effectively communicate mission activities; supervising the monitoring of local and international media; handling interview requests from journalists; conducting press conferences and media events; managing outreach activities; overseeing projects related to media freedom and public outreach; maintaining liaison with the OSCE Secretariat's Communications and Media Relations Section; supervising internal monitoring and reporting on media freedom; managing the mission's social media platforms; overseeing the mission's website; participating in security zone monitoring; supervising one mission member; and performing other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in journalism, international relations, communications, public relations, media studies, or a related field. They should have at least six years of relevant professional experience in media and public affairs, including experience in handling media inquiries and managing information dissemination. Excellent writing skills and the ability to draft documents for diverse audiences are essential. Candidates should also have experience in project management and a strong understanding of the political context in the mission area. A commitment to gender equality and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment are also required.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a first-level university degree in a relevant field such as journalism, international relations, communications, public relations, or media studies. Professional certification in journalism or public relations is also considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid foundation in media practices and public communication strategies.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience in media and public affairs.
