Job Overview:
The UNFPA Driver position is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the UNFPA Moldova Country Office. Under the supervision of the Logistics and Supply Associate, the Driver is responsible for providing reliable and safe driving services to UN officials and visitors. This role includes maintaining the assigned vehicle in excellent working condition, logging mileage, and tracking fuel consumption. The Driver must demonstrate a client-oriented approach, courtesy, and the ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. The position requires a strong sense of responsibility and adherence to security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security protocols, ensuring that all driving activities are conducted with the highest standards of discretion and integrity. The Driver will also assist with clerical and logistics functions, contributing to the overall efficiency of the office operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver's primary responsibilities include: driving office vehicles for the transport of UN staff, officials, and visitors; ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the vehicle; maintaining accurate vehicle logs and records; performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on the vehicle; ensuring the vehicle is clean and in good running condition; keeping track of all necessary vehicle documentation; assisting with airport pick-ups and deliveries; collaborating with other drivers and office staff; and performing additional administrative tasks as assigned by the supervisor. The Driver is expected to demonstrate professionalism and a service-oriented approach while interacting with UNFPA staff and external partners.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record, with a minimum of three years of relevant work experience as a driver. Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol, and local road conditions is essential. Proficiency in office software applications and corporate IT systems is required. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are necessary for effective communication and collaboration within a multicultural environment. Certifications in defensive driving and armored vehicle operation are advantageous, as is experience with 4x4 vehicles and minor vehicle repairs.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is completed secondary level education. Candidates with additional qualifications or certifications related to driving or logistics will be viewed favorably.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least three years of experience as a driver, preferably in an international organization, embassy, or UN setting. Experience supporting programmatic or operational activities in humanitarian, development, or social sector environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with UN procedures and policies, particularly those of UNFPA, is an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken Romanian is mandatory, along with a working knowledge of English. Proficiency in one or more additional languages relevant to Moldova, such as Russian, Bulgarian, Gagauzian, Romani, Ukrainian, or sign language, is considered an asset.
