Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is based in the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Thailand and is designed to provide interns with hands-on experience in strategic communications and advocacy. Interns will work closely with the Communications Officer to develop and implement public information activities that highlight the work of the UN Resident Coordinator and the UN Country Team in Thailand. The role involves engaging in multimedia storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy project management, with a focus on visibility planning and outreach. Interns will have the opportunity to utilize AI-enabled tools and multimedia technology to enhance their work, contributing to a better public understanding of the UN's impact in Thailand. This is a full-time, unpaid internship lasting six months, requiring interns to work 35 hours per week from the office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for preparing press releases, feature stories, and social media content in both English and Thai. They will produce graphics, videos, reels, infographics, and other digital content that effectively communicate the work of the UN Resident Coordinator and the UN Country Team. Additionally, interns will support integrated visibility and joint communications planning with UN agencies and partners, participating in various digital and in-person activities, including events and advocacy efforts. Monitoring digital platforms and media coverage relevant to the UN's work in Thailand will also be part of their duties, utilizing AI technology and analytics for social listening and content trend identification. Interns will ensure consistent messaging and adherence to UN brand standards across all communications.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level). A demonstrated interest in the work of the United Nations and a commitment to its ideals are essential. Candidates should possess strong writing and editing skills in both Thai and English, with the ability to adapt their tone and style for various platforms and audiences. Experience in transforming complex ideas into clear narratives, knowledge of digital platforms and social media strategies, and proficiency in graphic design and multimedia tools are also required. Familiarity with analytics tools and the ability to derive actionable insights from data will be advantageous.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be students in their final year of a first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), or enrolled in or have completed a Master’s or Ph.D. program. This educational background is crucial as it ensures that interns possess the necessary theoretical knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to the UN's work during their internship.

Experience:
No prior working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. However, candidates should demonstrate how their training, education, or skills can benefit the UN during their internship. This could include relevant coursework, projects, or volunteer experiences that align with the responsibilities of the internship.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written Thai and English is mandatory for this internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, is considered an advantage, as English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
