The Supply Chain Management Unit (SCMU) was established in January 2022 and is self-funded, tasked with ensuring effective delivery of life-saving reproductive health products and other supplies.

Job Overview:
The Individual Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting the Logistics Management Services (LMS) Team in executing global logistics operations. This includes managing freight, inventory, customer orders, and shipment monitoring, while ensuring compliance with logistics documentation and coordination with stakeholders. The consultant will contribute to the timely and efficient delivery of reproductive health commodities and humanitarian supplies, maintaining accurate logistics records and supporting operational reporting. The position requires collaboration with team members and reporting to either the Freight Team Lead or the Stock Management Team Lead, depending on the assignment. The consultant will also engage in continuous process improvement and business continuity efforts within the Supply Chain Management Unit (SCMU).

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for a variety of logistics operations and customer support tasks, including planning and executing logistics operations for programme supplies and humanitarian goods. They will provide guidance to customers on logistics processes, monitor customer orders from receipt to delivery, and coordinate with suppliers and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery. The consultant will analyze quotations and freight rates, monitor inventory levels, and support transportation planning. Additionally, they will create and process logistics transactions within UNFPA systems, maintain operational records, and ensure compliance with policies and standards. The consultant will also participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and process improvements. Collaboration with colleagues across SCMU and other partners is essential to ensure effective supply chain operations and uninterrupted service delivery during peak workloads or emergencies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in inventory management, logistics, or related fields, preferably in social mission-driven organizations. This requirement is reduced to 3 years for those with a relevant university degree. Experience in managing international or in-country logistics operations in the health sector is preferred. Familiarity with UN procurement and supply chain policies is advantageous. Proficiency in Google tools, analytical applications, and ERP systems is required, along with knowledge of supply chain security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and compliance regulations. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop partnerships are essential, as well as basic project management skills and experience in logistics business transformation projects.

Educational Background:
Completion of secondary education is required, with a university degree at the Bachelor level in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field being an asset. Certifications such as CIPS Level 2 or CILT-UK Level 3 in Logistics and Transport, as well as project management qualifications like PRINCE2 or PMP, are additional assets that enhance a candidate's profile.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in logistics or inventory management. Candidates with a relevant university degree may qualify with only 3 years of experience. Experience in managing logistics operations in the health sector and familiarity with UN policies will be beneficial. Proficiency in using ERP systems and analytical tools is also necessary.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while working knowledge of any other UN official language is considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy assignment is for a duration of 11 months, with a working schedule of Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, totaling 40 hours per week.
