Job Overview:
The National Programme Analyst on Communication and Innovation will be stationed at the UNFPA Country Office in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. This role is pivotal in advancing UNFPA's mandate and Country Programme priorities through effective external communication, advocacy, and program communication strategies. The analyst will work closely with various stakeholders, including the Head of Office, Programme Analysts, and other technical teams, to ensure that communication efforts align with the organization's strategic goals. The position requires a deep understanding of the political, social, and economic landscape in Kyrgyzstan, enabling the analyst to identify opportunities for strategic communication interventions that enhance UNFPA's visibility and public perception. The role also involves developing and implementing communication strategies that engage communities and promote reproductive health, gender equality, and population development communication practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The National Programme Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including monitoring and analyzing the political, social, and economic environment relevant to UNFPA's work. This includes identifying opportunities for strategic communications interventions and recommending actions to enhance UNFPA's visibility. The analyst will guide internal and external communications, coordinate the development of communication and advocacy strategies, and maintain close collaboration with media and civil society organizations. Responsibilities also include drafting and editing various communication materials, managing the UNFPA website and social media accounts, organizing public support for special events, and overseeing the production of advocacy materials. Additionally, the analyst will contribute to UNFPA's innovation priorities, support program communication initiatives, and advise on donor relations to enhance resource mobilization efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree or equivalent master's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related social science field. Prior experience in communication and advocacy on social issues, media relationship management, and digital media is highly desirable. Knowledge of communication approaches, tools, and methodologies is essential, along with professional experience in program/project management. Familiarity with UN procedures and working methods, particularly those related to UNFPA, is considered an asset. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Educational Background:
The position requires an advanced university degree or equivalent master's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related social science field. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of communication strategies and advocacy efforts within the context of UNFPA's mission and objectives.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in the field of communication and advocacy, particularly in relation to social issues. Experience in media relationship management, digital media, and resource mobilization is advantageous. Demonstrated knowledge of communication approaches and methodologies, as well as professional experience in program/project management, will be beneficial for this role.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English, Russian, and Kyrgyz is required for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, media representatives, and community organizations.

This position is a fixed-term appointment with a duration of one year, renewable based on performance and organizational needs. It is open exclusively to Kyrgyzstan nationals.
