Job Overview:
The Analyst in Business Development plays a crucial role in supporting the Bank's mission by identifying potential Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) opportunities and enhancing the visibility of the Bank's capabilities. This position is integral to the Business Development Unit, which is embedded within the Banking Department. The Analyst will work closely with senior management and various teams to coordinate marketing efforts, prepare presentations, and conduct market research. The role requires a strategic approach to business development, ensuring that the Bank maintains a robust pipeline of new business opportunities while fostering relationships with potential clients and stakeholders. The Analyst will also contribute to the design and customization of marketing materials, including pitch books, to effectively promote the Bank's activities and products.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
  • Collaborating with Business Development team members to coordinate and prepare marketing visits for EBRD senior management, ensuring all logistics and materials are in place.
  • Supporting Banking and Client Services Group (CSG) teams in market mapping and pipeline building, providing research and background information on potential clients and sectors.
  • Preparing marketing materials such as presentations and briefings to support business development efforts.
  • Taking a leading role in designing an EBRD pitch book and customizing it to meet the needs of various Banking and CSG teams.
  • Assisting the Associate in identifying FDI opportunities in non-Countries of Operations (non-COOs) and implementing the Business Outreach Programme.
  • Engaging in continuous innovation regarding business development delivery products, channels, and formats to enhance the Bank's outreach and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in corporate and/or business development, marketing, and research, ideally from a leading investment, merchant, or commercial organization. A broad understanding of the banking project cycle and key marketing principles is essential. Familiarity with the Banking Department's procedures and the Bank's rules is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required, along with experience in maintaining various databases and knowledge of the Bank's systems such as SAP and Data Warehouse. Candidates should also have excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with additional languages considered a plus.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field is required. A master's degree or equivalent qualification would be advantageous and may enhance a candidate's profile for this role.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have relevant experience in corporate or business development, marketing, or research, ideally within the banking or financial services sector. Experience working in Central and Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, or SEMED (South Eastern Mediterranean) regions is desirable, as it provides valuable context for the role.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with very good written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an advantage and may enhance the candidate's ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
