Job Overview: The Team LeaderWASH Grand Nord-Kivu will be responsible for the operational management, supervision of teams, and monitoring of WASH activities implemented by NRC in the Grand Nord-Kivu region. This position requires ensuring that activities are executed in accordance with project documents, work plans, technical standards, NRC procedures, and donor requirements. The Team Leader acts as the primary operational link between the WASH teams in the Grand Nord and the WASH coordination, ensuring regular reporting on activity progress, achievements, indicators, operational constraints, and support needs. The role involves planning and implementing WASH activities, supervising WASH Officers and Technical Assistants, and ensuring compliance with technical standards and quality control of WASH infrastructures.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Team Leader will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
General Responsibilities: Adhering to NRC policies and procedures, ensuring projects target the most vulnerable participants, promoting the rights of displaced persons, and contributing to the identification of WASH needs in the area.
Specific Responsibilities: Planning and implementing WASH activities according to approved work plans and budgets, organizing field activities, ensuring timely implementation, and identifying delays or difficulties.
Supervision and Team Management: Supervising WASH Officers and Technical Assistants, conducting regular follow-up meetings, providing technical support and coaching, and monitoring team performance.
Technical Control and Quality Assurance: Ensuring technical quality of WASH activities, conducting site visits, verifying compliance with standards, and documenting progress.
Data Collection and Reporting: Collecting data on WASH activities, ensuring data quality, and contributing to internal and external reporting.
Financial Monitoring: Assisting in budget tracking, comparing activity progress with expenditures, and informing the WASH Project Coordinator of any budgetary risks.
Coordination and Representation: Collaborating with local authorities and other WASH actors, participating in relevant coordination meetings, and sharing information with the WASH Project Coordinator.
Needs Assessment and Program Development: Participating in WASH needs assessments, identifying and prioritizing needs, and providing technical input for project adjustments.
Cross-Cutting Approaches: Ensuring integration of protection, gender, inclusion, and accountability in WASH activities. 1

Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess at least 3 years of professional experience in implementing and monitoring WASH activities in humanitarian or emergency contexts. Experience in supervising technical teams, project monitoring, and quality control of WASH activities is essential. Candidates should have a proven track record in complex and volatile environments, preferably with an international NGO. Strong results in similar responsibilities are required, along with proficiency in French (written and spoken). Knowledge of local languages and English is an asset.
Educational Background: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (equivalent to BAC+4/5) in civil engineering, rural engineering, hydraulics, public works, or a related field is required. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in humanitarian activities, team management, and coordination of activities, with at least 4 years of experience in designing and constructing WASH infrastructures.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the implementation and monitoring of WASH activities in humanitarian contexts. Experience in supervising technical teams and project monitoring is essential, along with a background in complex and volatile environments. Previous experience with an NGO, particularly international, is preferred.
Languages: Proficiency in French is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of local languages and English is considered an asset.
