The intern will provide essential support to the OGA, working closely with the OGA Director and the front office team. The intern will be involved in various tasks that contribute to the smooth operation of the office, including logistical coordination for Board meetings and technical sessions, as well as general administrative duties. Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are crucial to the functioning of the Office of Governance Affairs. These duties include:
Overall logistical coordination and preparation for Board meetings, technical sessions, and other relevant events, ensuring that all necessary arrangements are in place for successful execution.
Performing general administrative tasks, which involve managing and organizing both electronic and physical documentation, maintaining filing systems, and overseeing shared folders.
Controlling access to virtual and in-person meetings, ensuring that all participants have the necessary information and resources to engage effectively.
Coordinating and preparing team events and activities, which includes contacting suppliers, setting up venues, and organizing logistical arrangements to facilitate smooth operations.
Assisting with any other tasks or projects as required by the OGA, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to various initiatives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for this internship must meet several qualifications to be considered. They should be currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from a Master’s program in business, finance, climate change, sustainability, or related fields. A strong knowledge of, interest in, and/or experience with investments, financial institutions, and climate change issues is essential. Additionally, a good understanding of the operations of international organizations is considered an added advantage. Proficiency in standard software programs such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access is required, as these tools are integral to the daily tasks of the intern. Excellent writing and presentation skills are also necessary to effectively communicate within the organization and with external stakeholders.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes enrollment in or recent graduation from a Master’s program. Ideal candidates will have a focus on business, finance, climate change, sustainability, or related fields. This educational foundation is crucial as it provides the theoretical knowledge and analytical skills necessary to understand the complexities of climate finance and governance.
Experience: While specific prior experience is not mandatory, candidates with knowledge or experience related to investments, financial institutions, or climate change issues will be viewed favorably. Additionally, any experience in the operations of international organizations will enhance a candidate's application, as it demonstrates familiarity with the working environment and challenges faced by such entities.
Languages: Fluency in English is essential for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. The position offers a remuneration of US$ 1,600 per month.
