Job Overview:
The intern will play a vital role in supporting the smooth functioning of the Policy, Strategy and Delivery (PSD) Front Office, working under the supervision of the Adviser to the Managing Director of PSD. The PSD Department is responsible for delivering strategic, policy, and operational support functions across various transition qualities, excluding green/climate initiatives. The intern will engage in enhancing the quality and impact of the Bank's interventions by leading and supporting policy engagements, providing political and economic analysis, and assisting in the origination and structuring of transactions that link to policy reforms. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the workings of a major international financial institution and contribute to significant policy initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's responsibilities will include supporting the day-to-day functions of the PSD Front Office, which involves coordinating and drafting briefing notes for senior management, assisting with the Managing Director's speaking engagements at conferences and internal events, and participating in key committees. The intern will also perform data management and analytical tasks related to tracking policy engagement and technical cooperation activities. Additionally, the intern will support operational matters related to project reviews, manage the portfolio of technical cooperation and policy advisory activities, and assist in operational risk reporting. Ad-hoc research and analysis of strategic policy issues will also be part of the role, contributing to high-level strategic documents for the department. Furthermore, the intern will assist with the department's communications, including managing internal intranet updates, writing internal and external posts, helping senior management with social media accounts, and coordinating report production and promotion.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess proven organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to multitask and lead projects under guidance. A good understanding and interest in economics, policy, and financial investments, particularly in the EBRD region, is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required, alongside strong quantitative and numerical skills. Advanced computer skills, particularly in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and web content management systems, are necessary. A positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills are also important for this role.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in economics, international development, finance, or a related discipline is required for this internship. Candidates must also be nationals of an EBRD member country to be eligible for this position.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandated, any relevant internships or academic projects related to economics, policy analysis, or financial markets will be advantageous. The intern should demonstrate a willingness to learn and engage with complex issues in a dynamic environment.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the EBRD's operational regions would be considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's profile.
