Job Overview: The Programme Assistant position at UN Women in Yerevan, Armenia, involves providing comprehensive programme, administrative, and operational support to ensure the effective implementation of UN Women's initiatives in the country. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including government counterparts and civil society organizations, to facilitate the delivery of programme activities. The Programme Assistant will assist in programme planning, financial and administrative processes, monitoring and reporting, and partner coordination. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and logistical support to programme implementation, including preparation of work plans and documentation, maintaining organized filing systems, and tracking programme activities.
Assist in financial and operational processes by creating and updating project transactions, preparing requisitions, processing invoices, and maintaining expenditure records.
Organize logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, and other events, including travel arrangements and preparation of meeting materials.
Support resource mobilization efforts by maintaining records of donor contributions and assisting in the compilation of information for donor reports.
Facilitate knowledge management by organizing programme documents and supporting training sessions for staff and partners.
Assist in maintaining office security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security arrangements and support administrative tasks related to security.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the effective implementation of programme activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of secondary education, with a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Public Administration, International Relations, or Gender Studies being desirable. Strong administrative skills and the ability to execute processes and transactions are essential. Familiarity with UN Women/UNDP procurement and financial regulations is an advantage. Candidates should also demonstrate strong IT skills and the ability to manage data and documents effectively.
Educational Background: Completion of secondary education is required, while a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is desirable. This educational background supports the understanding of the administrative and operational processes necessary for the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support or project support with secondary education, or 2 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree. Experience in gender equality and women's empowerment initiatives is preferred, along with proficiency in office software and familiarity with modern web-based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud.
Languages: Fluency in English and Armenian is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish is considered desirable, enhancing communication capabilities within the UN system.
