Job Overview:
The Driver position at EBRD is crucial for providing safe and efficient transportation services to the Regional Office (RO) staff and Bank visitors within Senegal and neighboring countries. This role is not just about driving; it involves being the first point of contact for visiting guests and senior management, ensuring that they receive a warm welcome and a professional experience. The driver is expected to maintain the vehicle in excellent condition, adhere to local driving regulations, and ensure the safety of all passengers. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to upholding the high standards of the EBRD.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: transporting EBRD staff and visitors safely and punctually, adhering to all local driving rules, providing transport for the Head of Office/Director and other Bankers, maintaining the RO car(s) in good working condition, ensuring cleanliness and order in the RO garage and driver's area, delivering documents and packages for the EBRD, observing the Road Safety Code, assisting with maintenance of the RO as required, supporting the office with clerical tasks such as purchasing supplies and administration, maintaining a weekly travel log sheet, and acting as a First Aider and focal point in case of emergencies. The driver must also ensure that the satellite phone is maintained according to health and safety requirements.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a secondary school education and a valid driving license. A safe driving record is essential, along with strict compliance with safety procedures. Excellent driving skills and technical knowledge of cars are required, and defensive driver training is preferred (though training will be provided). An advanced driver training certificate is also advantageous. Good communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, as well as a working knowledge of English, which is considered an advantage. Experience in an international environment is also beneficial.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is a secondary school diploma. Candidates should have a solid understanding of driving regulations and safety protocols, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in English, which will enhance their ability to interact with international teams and visitors.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have prior experience in a driving role, particularly in an international or multicultural environment. Experience with providing transportation services to senior management or high-profile guests is highly desirable. A proven track record of safe driving and adherence to safety standards is essential for this position.

Languages:
While a working knowledge of English is mandatory, proficiency in additional languages is considered a plus. This can enhance communication with diverse teams and international visitors, making the candidate more competitive for the role.
