Job Overview:
The Executive Driver position is integral to the Office of the Secretary General, responsible for facilitating daily operations through the safe and efficient transportation of high-ranking officials. The incumbent will operate official vehicles in accordance with NATO protocols, ensuring that all transportation tasks are executed with precision and professionalism. This role requires flexibility, as the driver may need to work outside of normal office hours and respond to on-call duties. The Executive Driver will also engage in administrative tasks related to vehicle maintenance and documentation, contributing to the overall efficiency of the office's operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Executive Driver will be tasked with planning and executing transportation for NATO senior leadership, primarily within Brussels but also in neighboring cities and countries. Responsibilities include driving both armoured and non-armoured vehicles, calculating driving times, and maintaining accurate logs of trips and incidents. The driver will assist in the maintenance of NATO vehicles and ensure compliance with all safety and operational protocols. Additionally, the incumbent will participate in defensive and offensive driving courses to enhance skills and ensure readiness for various driving scenarios. The role also involves working collaboratively with team members to meet the organization's transportation needs and providing courteous service to passengers.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a higher secondary education equivalent and have at least three years of experience as a professional VIP driver for high-ranking officials or governmental institutions. A valid driving license for both normal and heavy vehicles is required, along with a medical certificate permitting the operation of heavy transport. Proficiency in NATO's official languages, with advanced skills in one and intermediate in the other, is essential. Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include advanced driving certifications, first-aid training, and familiarity with the road infrastructure in Brussels and surrounding areas.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is equivalent to a higher secondary level, which typically includes completion of secondary school education. This foundational education is crucial for understanding the responsibilities and protocols associated with driving high-ranking officials and managing transportation logistics effectively.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of professional driving experience, specifically in roles that involve transporting VIPs or working within high-stakes environments such as governmental or military institutions. This experience should demonstrate the ability to navigate complex driving scenarios and adhere to strict safety and operational protocols.

Languages:
Proficiency in NATO's official languages is mandatory, with a requirement for Level V (Advanced) in one language and Level III (Intermediate) in the other. This linguistic capability is essential for effective communication within the diverse environment of NATO and for understanding instructions and protocols related to the role.

Additional Notes:
The successful candidate will receive a definite duration contract for three years, with the possibility of transitioning to an indefinite duration contract thereafter. The position may require travel and working outside of standard office hours.
