Job Overview:
The Young Professional (YP) position at ADB is part of the Young Professionals Program (YPP), which serves as an entry-level recruitment initiative aimed at attracting motivated individuals who aspire to build a career in international development. This role is designed to provide participants with opportunities to develop their professional skills, gain a comprehensive understanding of ADB's operations, and contribute to the achievement of Strategy 2030, which outlines ADB's vision for the future. As a Young Professional, you will be involved in various aspects of ADB's mission, including the execution of key instruments such as loans, technical assistance, grants, and advisory services. The position may be assigned to either an operations department or a direct operations support department, depending on the candidate's background and fit. Relocation to Manila is required, and all reasonable relocation expenses will be covered by ADB.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Young Professional will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including: a. Strategy and Planning: Assisting in the development of policies and strategies for ADB, applying complex expertise to support research and analysis, and evaluating the development impact of ADB operations. b. Project Management: Participating in the development, processing, and administration of non-complex loans, grants, and technical assistance projects, while ensuring the integration of ADB's policies and guidelines in project design and implementation. c. Knowledge Sharing: Contributing to ADB's advocacy efforts, knowledge sharing initiatives, and capacity building activities to enhance the organization's impact and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in relevant fields such as Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Environment, Law, Social Sciences, Public Policy, or other areas pertinent to ADB's operations. A post-graduate degree or its equivalent is preferred. Additionally, candidates should have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in fields such as macro or development economics, climate change, commercial/investment banking, education, energy, environment, public health, public-private partnerships, rural development, transport, urban planning, water operations, and agriculture and natural resources. A PhD may be considered in lieu of work experience. International experience related to ADB operations will be viewed as an asset. Candidates must be no more than 32 years old upon joining ADB, and proficiency in written and verbal English is mandatory.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant discipline, with a preference for candidates holding a post-graduate degree. The fields of study should align with ADB's operational focus areas, ensuring that candidates have the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to contribute effectively to the organization's mission.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in areas that align with ADB's operations. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to engage with complex issues and contribute to the development and implementation of projects that support ADB's goals. Candidates with international experience in related fields will have an advantage in the selection process.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, both in written and verbal communication. This is essential for effective collaboration and engagement within ADB and with its stakeholders. While English is the primary language required, knowledge of additional languages may be considered beneficial but is not mandatory.

The selected candidate will be appointed for an initial term of 3 years, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and organizational needs.
