Job Overview:
The TVET Instructor (Trade Theory - Mechanic) position at UNRWA involves a multifaceted role focused on the design, development, and delivery of vocational education and training programs. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the TVET Instructor include:
  • Supporting the design and development of learning programs and curricula, including conducting occupational and competency analyses, drafting program profiles, and integrating emerging technologies.
  • Facilitating the delivery of school-based and work-based learning programs, which involves preparing training venues, selecting trainees, and managing learning in various settings.
  • Designing student assessments, including formative and summative assessments, and developing inclusive assessment plans.
  • Building linkages with employers and utilizing labor market information to inform training courses.
  • Applying quality assurance tools and processes throughout the training cycle.
  • Supporting greening and digitalization initiatives in training programs.
  • Collaborating with other instructors to coordinate teaching and learning processes and maintain discipline in the training center.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree of four years from an accredited educational institution, with a major specialization in Mechanical Engineering, specifically in Mechanical Power. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to the UN's core values of integrity, professionalism, and respect for diversity. Functional competencies such as following instructions, networking, creating and innovating, applying technical expertise, and planning and organizing are also essential for this role.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Mechanical Power. This position is a daily paid assignment for up to three months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The daily paid rate is $29.17, and the role includes benefits such as one day of annual leave and one day of sick leave for each completed month of service. Candidates must reside in Syria and be within commuting distance of the duty station, with authorization to work in Syria at the time of application. The agency will not facilitate work permits, and preference will be given to registered Palestine refugees and candidates from underrepresented genders to promote gender parity.
