Job Overview:
The position of Ingénieur(e) agronome - Responsable de sites is crucial for the effective management and coordination of project activities in Bangui. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, managing, coordinating, and monitoring all project activities under UNOPS's responsibility. This role requires close collaboration with the DDR section of MINUSCA and involves evaluating, planning, and managing the provision of services and activities in accordance with project objectives and implementation modalities. The role also includes assessing and managing resources allocated to project activities, preparing and updating activity schedules, and supervising operations related to beneficiary registration and information sessions. The successful candidate will need to conduct market assessments for local supplies and coordinate socio-economic reintegration opportunities, ensuring compliance with UNOPS regulations and fostering community engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Ingénieur(e) agronome - Responsable de sites will undertake a variety of duties including: evaluating and managing project service delivery; planning and supervising beneficiary registration operations; conducting market studies for local supplies; coordinating socio-economic reintegration efforts; managing logistics and procurement processes; ensuring compliance with UNOPS regulations; maintaining effective communication with local communities and stakeholders; and preparing regular reports on project activities. The role also involves leading a team of community associates, ensuring their performance evaluations are conducted, and fostering a collaborative work environment. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate leadership and visibility in the field, ensuring that all project activities are executed in a timely and efficient manner.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in agronomy or a related field, with a demonstrated ability to manage project operations effectively. A solid understanding of project management principles, particularly in fragile and conflict-affected settings, is essential. The candidate should have experience in community engagement and capacity building, as well as a proven track record of working with diverse stakeholders including local authorities and international partners. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are critical for success in this role.

Educational Background:
A higher university degree (master's or equivalent) in agro-industrial engineering or a related field is required. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree combined with two additional years of relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of a master's degree. This educational background ensures that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to perform effectively in this role.

Experience:
Candidates must have at least four years of experience in agro-industrial engineering or a related field. This experience should include a minimum of three years in project coordination roles, particularly in emergency, transitional, or developmental contexts. Experience in post-conflict settings and familiarity with the challenges of working in remote and isolated locations will be advantageous. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of task planning and management.

Languages:
Fluency in French is required for this position, as it is the primary language of communication in the Central African Republic. Basic proficiency in English is desirable, as it may facilitate communication with international partners and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is classified at the mid-level (ICS 09) and is offered under an Individual Contractor Agreement (ICA) with a regular contract type. The contract duration is indefinite, and the successful candidate will be expected to reside on-site in Bangui.
