Job Overview:
The Fuel Logistics Associate position is crucial for enhancing the management of fuel within UNHCR operations. The incumbent will support the implementation of the UNHCR fuel management framework, addressing gaps in budgeting, procurement, storage, consumption, monitoring, and reporting on fuel in field operations. This role involves coordinating logistics operations related to the bulk fuel tank leasing program and upgrading existing fuel facilities. The Associate will work closely with operations to implement measures that prevent potential loss and enhance transparency in fuel management processes. The position reports to the Fuel Logistics Coordinator within the Global Fleet Management Unit and plays a vital role in ensuring effective, efficient, and accountable fuel management across UNHCR's country operations. The Associate will also contribute to maintaining high standards of personal and professional conduct within the organization, supporting the integrity of UNHCR's operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Fuel Logistics Associate include:

• Implementation of the Standard on Fuel Management in UNHCR, which involves familiarization with fuel management practices, including the number and capacity of existing fuel storage sites, allocation of responsibilities, fuel modalities, data capturing and record-keeping, monitoring processes, and existing contracts for bulk fuel procurement.
• Coordination of logistics operations related to bulk fuel infrastructure, ensuring adherence to UNHCR supply chain procedures, cooperation with country supply teams, preparation of shipping plans, liaising with freight forwarders, monitoring shipment timelines, supporting local logistics activities during upgrades, and maintaining accurate records.
• Providing expertise on international logistics and procurement, executing delegated logistics activities, reporting to the Fuel Logistics Coordinator, ensuring international shipping of project-related equipment, and supporting the deployment and management of new solutions and systems.
• Collaborating with various stakeholders, including project teams, country office supply teams, and suppliers, to facilitate smooth implementation of infrastructure upgrade plans and carrying out administrative tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:
The essential minimum qualifications for the Fuel Logistics Associate position include a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related engineering discipline. Additionally, candidates must have at least five years of relevant experience in international logistics and supply management, with a strong background in ERP systems.
