Job Overview: The position involves engaging highly creative and professional graphic designers and motion graphics specialists to develop high-quality visual and multimedia materials that support UNFPA's advocacy, communication, and visibility efforts. The consultants will create compelling content that raises awareness about sexual and reproductive health and rights, engaging various stakeholders across digital and print platforms. The role is crucial for the implementation of the UNFPA Country Programme Document (CPD) 2026–2030, ensuring that all materials align with UNFPA's global branding and communication standards. The consultants will work on a range of projects, producing materials that effectively communicate UNFPA's impact, particularly in areas such as maternal health and gender equality, while adhering to strict timelines and quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultants will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: developing professional graphic design and motion graphics products in accordance with UNFPA branding guidelines; delivering draft and final design products in both print-ready and digital formats; providing PDF versions for archiving; preparing specifications for printing and production; creating motion graphics and animated assets; collaborating with UNFPA teams on visual concepts; applying contemporary design techniques; reviewing and editing materials for clarity and consistency; ensuring compliance with UNFPA workflows; participating in revisions; and adapting materials for various platforms. The consultants must deliver high-quality outputs within agreed timelines, including short-notice assignments, and maintain confidentiality regarding all project-related information.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of professional experience in graphic design and/or motion graphics, preferably with international organizations or advocacy-focused projects. Strong creativity and visual storytelling skills are essential, along with the ability to translate complex information into engaging visual content. Proven experience in designing presentations, reports, publications, and social media materials is required. Familiarity with UNFPA's mandate and branding standards is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate strong technical skills in relevant software, including Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools, and have the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
Educational Background: The minimum academic requirement for this position is a high school diploma. However, higher educational qualifications in graphic design, visual arts, or related fields are preferred and may enhance a candidate's application.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in graphic design and/or motion graphics. Additional experience in producing advocacy and communication materials, particularly for international organizations, will be considered an asset. Experience with multilingual content and the ability to work under tight deadlines are also important.
Languages: A working knowledge of English is required for this position. Knowledge of Uzbek and/or Russian is considered a strong asset, as it will facilitate communication and understanding of the local context in which UNFPA operates.
Additional Notes: The Long-Term Arrangement (LTA) is expected to last for twelve months, with the possibility of a twenty-four-month extension, totaling thirty-six months. The position may require the consultant to work outside standard hours, including weekends, depending on project needs. Payment for travel costs will be agreed upon for each specific assignment, and all air travel will be by economy class. UNFPA reserves the right to establish LTAs with multiple consultants to ensure flexibility and timely service delivery. The establishment of an LTA does not guarantee a minimum volume of work, and assignments will be issued based on program requirements and available funding.
