Job Overview:
The Portfolio Officer position at MIGA involves managing an assigned portfolio segment, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and MIGA policies, and serving as the primary point of accountability for portfolio execution and client delivery. The role requires strong execution capability, analytical rigor, and client relationship skills. The Portfolio Officer will oversee the full post-signature lifecycle of projects, implement management plans, coordinate across departments, and ensure compliance with reporting requirements. Additionally, the officer will conduct risk assessments, manage client relationships, and identify new business opportunities. This position is critical in supporting MIGA's mission to promote foreign direct investment and enhance development outcomes in developing countries.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Portfolio Officer will be responsible for managing the full post-signature lifecycle of an assigned portfolio segment, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations and MIGA policies. Key duties include: managing contract administration, amendments, waivers, and cancellations; implementing portfolio management plans; coordinating with various departments on contract matters; conducting due diligence and risk assessments; providing early warning signals for projects at risk; managing client relationships and ensuring high client satisfaction; identifying new business opportunities; participating in selection of new business transactions; coordinating with legal teams on pre-claims issues; documenting evaluation findings; participating in strengthening operational risk management; and mentoring Portfolio Analysts to improve their skills and knowledge.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in finance, economics, law, business administration, international development, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years' experience in portfolio management, project finance, risk management, or related fields. Proven experience in underwriting and credit structuring, sound knowledge of project finance structuring, and strong project management skills are essential. Candidates should demonstrate leadership abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a matrix organizational structure. Familiarity with WBG operations and a CFA designation or equivalent analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis certification are highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required, with Spanish or French being a plus.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in finance, economics, law, business administration, international development, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background should be complemented by relevant experience in portfolio management, project finance, or risk management, ideally within development finance or multilateral institutions.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in portfolio management, project finance, risk management, or related fields. Candidates should have proven end-to-end experience in underwriting and credit structuring, including the ability to process complex transactions independently. Experience with early warning systems, risk assessment frameworks, and portfolio risk management is also essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in Spanish or French is considered a plus and may enhance a candidate's suitability for the role.
