Job Posting Organization: UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, is the lead agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is intended, every childbirth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled. Established in 1969, UNFPA operates in over 150 countries and has a mission to promote reproductive health and rights, gender equality, and sustainable development. The organization focuses on four interconnected outcomes: ending unmet need for family planning, preventing maternal deaths, eliminating gender-based violence, and adapting to demographic changes through evidence-based policies. UNFPA Uzbekistan specifically works on advocacy messages, publications, and technical reports to support reproductive rights and gender equality, aiming to engage the public and decision-makers through compelling digital content.
Job Overview: The position involves engaging highly creative and professional videographers, video editors, photographers, and motion graphics editors to document and represent UNFPA activities and programs for various online audiences. The consultants will be responsible for producing high-quality multimedia content that aligns with UNFPA's global standards and supports the organization's advocacy objectives. This role is crucial for raising awareness about maternal health, reproductive rights, and gender equality, and for mobilizing resources through effective communication strategies. The consultants will work on various projects under the UNFPA Country Programme Document (CPD) 2026–2030, ensuring that the content produced is tailored for social media platforms and engages audiences effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultants will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: capturing video coverage of events such as conferences, trainings, and meetings; producing video documentaries that highlight UNFPA's processes and community engagement; creating specialized video spots for TV broadcasting; and delivering high-quality multimedia materials for advocacy purposes. They will also be responsible for conducting in-depth interviews, ensuring ethical representation, and collaborating closely with UNFPA counterparts to capture powerful stories. The consultants must review and edit materials for clarity and consistency, adhere to UNFPA's branding guidelines, and deliver content on tight deadlines. Additionally, they will produce b-roll footage suitable for broadcast media and create compelling photographic images with detailed captions.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in videography or photography, preferably with international organizations or high-profile brands. A high school diploma is the minimum academic requirement. Strong skills in producing, editing, and delivering engaging materials for social media platforms are essential. Candidates should demonstrate a deep understanding of ethical representation, the ability to work independently, and strong organizational and communication skills. Experience in multicultural environments and a track record of creativity in multimedia production are also required.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes at least a high school diploma. However, higher educational qualifications in relevant fields such as media production, photography, or videography may be advantageous. Candidates should have a strong portfolio that showcases their skills and experience in producing high-quality multimedia content.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in videography or photography, with a focus on working with international agencies or high-profile brands. Candidates should have a proven track record of producing and delivering engaging materials for social media platforms, as well as experience in conducting interviews and gathering testimonies in sensitive contexts.
Languages: While the job description does not specify mandatory languages, proficiency in English is likely essential given the international nature of UNFPA's work. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those relevant to the local context in Uzbekistan, would be considered an asset and beneficial for engaging with diverse communities and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The estimated duration of the Long-Term Arrangement (LTA) is twelve months, with the possibility of extending for an additional twenty-four months, totaling thirty-six months. The consultants will be required to use their own equipment and will not be allowed to share content with third parties without UNFPA's written permission. The payment schedule will be based on the completion of deliverables, and travel costs will be agreed upon for each specific assignment. UNFPA encourages applications from female candidates and individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those living with disabilities.
