Job Overview:
The IOM Case Worker position is crucial in supporting vulnerable migrants in Tunisia. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Project Manager, directly reporting to the Protection Officer. The role involves conducting screening interviews to assess the vulnerabilities of migrants, identifying their specific needs, and determining their eligibility for IOM assistance. The Case Worker will provide essential information and referrals to various services available to migrants, including medical, psychosocial, and legal assistance. This position requires a compassionate approach to support migrants through individual counseling sessions and group orientations, ensuring they are aware of the resources available to them. The Case Worker will also be responsible for maintaining case files, compiling reports, and adhering to IOM's data protection standards, all while demonstrating professionalism and empathy towards the migrants they assist.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the IOM Case Worker include: conducting screening interviews with migrants to assess their vulnerabilities; identifying specific needs and determining eligibility for assistance; referring eligible beneficiaries to available services such as medical, psychosocial, and legal assistance; providing information on services available for migrants in Tunisia; conducting individual counseling sessions and distributing informational materials; supporting migrants through referrals to social services and legal assistance; following up with IOM partners regarding assistance provided; managing cases to identify short, medium, and long-term solutions for migrants; assisting in the preparation and submission of financial documents related to direct assistance; planning and implementing outreach activities; compiling case reports and maintaining case files; preparing statistical reports as required; and performing any other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Health, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with two years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, candidates with a High School degree in the aforementioned fields and four years of relevant professional experience will also be considered. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Proven experience in assisting migrants or working in humanitarian activities targeting vulnerable individuals is essential. Experience with governmental authorities, the UN, or other national/international institutions is preferred, and familiarity with non-governmental organizations is an asset. Knowledge of Tunisia and regional migration and health issues is a distinct advantage.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Health, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited academic institution. Candidates with a High School diploma in these fields may also qualify if they have sufficient relevant professional experience. The educational institutions must be recognized and listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database to ensure the credibility of the qualifications.

Experience:
The position requires proven experience in the field of assistance to migrants and/or humanitarian activities targeting vulnerable individuals. Candidates should have experience working with governmental authorities, the UN, or other national/international institutions. Experience in non-governmental organizations is considered an asset. A strong understanding of the local context in Tunisia, particularly regarding migration and health issues, is highly beneficial for this role.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, both oral and written. Candidates should also have a working knowledge of Arabic and English. IOM's official languages include English, French, and Spanish, and proficiency in these languages will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Additional Notes:
The position is subject to funding confirmation, and the selection process may be used to fill similar positions in various duty stations. Recommended candidates will remain eligible for appointment in a similar position for 24 months. This post is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Tunisia will be considered. Appointment is contingent upon certification of medical fitness, verification of residency, visa, and government authorizations where applicable.
