Job Overview:
The UNFPA Representative leads a country office team in the design and implementation of a comprehensive population and development program, with a strong focus on sexual and reproductive health. The Representative is responsible for ensuring that the organization's mandate is integrated into national development agendas and that effective programs are delivered, particularly in emergency settings. Duties and Responsibilities:
The UNFPA Representative is tasked with several key responsibilities: 1) Strategic Direction: Lead the positioning of UNFPA on strategic issues, build institutional relationships, promote UNFPA's role in national development, and establish priorities for the Country Office. 2) Management of Resources: Manage international and national staff, foster a culture of growth, attract and retain high-caliber staff, and ensure compliance with security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security standards. 3) Programme Leadership: Advise senior management, engage national counterparts, and represent UNFPA within the UN Country Team. 4) Programme Oversight: Drive results-based management, enforce financial processes, and ensure compliance with UNFPA policies. 5) Additional Duties: Carry out any other responsibilities as required by the Regional Director.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Public Health, Medicine, Sociology, Demography, Gender, International Relations, or related disciplines. They should have at least 15 years of progressively responsible professional experience in public administration and international development, with a minimum of 10 years in population and development or sexual and reproductive health at the international level. Proven leadership skills, experience in advocacy and policy dialogue, and a strong understanding of the UNFPA mandate are essential. Field experience, particularly in developing or crisis contexts, is highly valued.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree is required, preferably in disciplines related to public health, international development, or social sciences. This educational background should provide a strong foundation for understanding the complexities of population and development issues, as well as the skills necessary for effective program management and leadership.

Experience:
The position requires extensive experience, specifically 15 years in public administration and international development, with at least 10 years focused on population and development or sexual and reproductive health. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of leading teams to achieve high-quality results and have experience in both national and international advocacy and policy dialogue. Field experience is crucial, particularly in humanitarian or crisis situations, to effectively address the challenges faced in these contexts.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Proficiency in any other UN language is considered desirable and may enhance a candidate's profile, particularly in roles that require engagement with diverse stakeholders.
