Job Overview:
The FONGA Performance & coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Grants Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the development and management of performance monitoring, evaluation, and grant management systems within the FONGA framework. This position is essential for ensuring that the organization meets its strategic objectives and maintains high standards of accountability and effectiveness in its humanitarian efforts. The coordinator will work closely with the Director and the regional secretariat to enhance the quality and efficiency of humanitarian action in West and Central Africa. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including national and international NGOs, donors, and UN agencies, to strengthen the coordination and advocacy efforts of FONGA. The coordinator will also contribute to institutional development by implementing sustainable systems and tools that support the organization's growth and operational quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Performance & Grants Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Developing, maintaining, and updating monitoring and evaluation tools and systems for FONGA.
  • Coordinating the implementation of activities, tracking results, indicators, and logical frameworks for projects and programs.
  • Ensuring quality implementation and identifying any gaps in performance.
  • Conducting satisfaction surveys, interviews, and learning exercises to gather feedback and insights.
  • Producing analyses and recommendations to support decision-making processes.
  • Managing grant agreements and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Preparing narrative reports for donors in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinating the annual planning cycle, including the development and regular updating of work plans and action plans.
  • Ensuring the proper documentation and archiving of institutional documents. 1
  • Supporting the organization of meetings, workshops, and events, and contributing to administrative tasks related to member management and communication.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least five years of experience in two key areas: monitoring and evaluation, including tracking results and indicators, and grant management, including compliance with donor requirements and reporting. A Master's degree in project management, monitoring and evaluation, international development, administration, or a related field is required, or equivalent experience. Candidates should demonstrate excellent analytical, writing, organizational, and coordination skills, as well as proficiency in both French and English, both written and spoken. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and other office tools is essential.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in a relevant field such as project management, monitoring and evaluation, international development, or administration is required. Equivalent experience may also be considered. The educational background should provide a solid foundation for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and grant management.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience working in an NGO, international organization, or non-profit organization. Experience in monitoring and evaluation, as well as grant management, is crucial for this role. The ability to analyze complex information and make informed recommendations is also essential.

Languages:
Fluency in French and English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly in the context of working with diverse stakeholders across the region.

Additional Notes:
This position is a national contract with a duration of 12 months, renewable based on funding availability. The role may require travel as needed for activities. The FONGA Performance & Grants Coordinator will work within a small, dynamic team and will have a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
