Job Overview: The Project Manager will play a crucial role in leading the implementation of the ReCCAWA Programme in Senegal, which is part of a broader initiative aimed at promoting clean cooking solutions. This position requires strategic direction and operational management to ensure that project activities are executed effectively, on time, and in compliance with Mercy Corps policies and donor requirements. The Project Manager will oversee the project team, manage financial and operational performance, and ensure the achievement of technical and programmatic results. This role also involves fostering collaboration among consortium partners and key national stakeholders, as well as maintaining communication with donors and regional partners to ensure alignment and coherence in interventions.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Manager's responsibilities include providing strategic leadership for the ReCCAWA Programme, ensuring alignment with project objectives and donor requirements. This involves translating strategic objectives into actionable work plans, coordinating across various program components, and promoting the Market Systems Development approach. The Project Manager will oversee program implementation, stakeholder coordination, and technical oversight, ensuring that activities align with project goals. Key duties include monitoring project performance, managing budgets, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and ensuring compliance with financial and operational standards. The Project Manager will also lead efforts in risk management, team management, and capacity building, ensuring that the project team operates effectively and adheres to safeguarding principles.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in relevant fields such as Energy, Environmental Sciences, Economics, International Development, Business Administration, or Project Management. A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in managing complex, donor-funded development programs is required, preferably in areas related to clean cooking, renewable energy, or market systems development. Demonstrated experience in leading multi-stakeholder partnerships and applying Market Systems Development approaches is essential. Strong program and financial management skills, along with excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities, are also required.
