Job Overview:
The Projects Officer for Operational Resilience and Business Continuity will play a crucial role in the Corporate Services and Facilities (CSF) department of the IMF. This position is designed for a dedicated professional who will work under the supervision of the Resilience Section Chief within the Information, Resilience, and Services (IR) division. The primary function of this role is to support the strengthening of the Fund's operational resilience program, which is essential for anticipating, preparing for, responding to, and recovering from business disruptions. The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing enhanced strategies for the IMF's existing programs in collaboration with institutional stakeholders. This includes identifying vulnerabilities in business processes, establishing effective mitigation measures, and developing comprehensive response plans to ensure that critical operations can continue to meet the IMF's mandate during disruptive events. The Projects Officer will also act as a change agent, leading key aspects of the business continuity program and contributing to the overall success of the operational resilience program. Additionally, the officer will provide support for the IMF's crisis management activities as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Projects Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: contributing to the development and enhancement of policies, procedures, and frameworks that focus on the IMF's operational resilience; leading efforts to strengthen the business continuity program by soliciting stakeholder feedback; ensuring alignment with enterprise risk acceptance levels and identifying creative alternative business continuity and recovery methods; providing crisis management support to the IMF's Crisis Management Team; offering expert guidance on industry best practices and efficient resilience strategies; overseeing and managing multiple projects and priorities; collaborating with internal project managers and vendors; documenting Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and mapping business processes; organizing impactful presentations and awareness campaigns; actively participating in the operational resilience community; and leading institutional working groups focused on the development and automation of the Business Continuity program.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong set of skills and qualifications, including expertise in Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and Business Impact Analysis (BIAs), client interface management, institutional adaptability, strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, innovation, proficiency in the use of systems and applications related to operational resilience, a global perspective, and experience in technology innovation, particularly in using AI to support operational resilience work. The ability to champion change and identify innovative solutions while working with key stakeholders is essential.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include an advanced university degree in a relevant field, supplemented by a minimum of four years of professional experience in operational risk management, business continuity planning, management, operational resilience, crisis management, or related fields. Alternatively, candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent, along with a minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience, will also be considered. Relevant industry certifications are preferred.

Experience:

For those with a bachelor's degree, a minimum of ten years of relevant experience is required.
